Really? It Rained?

We’ve been having a lot of rain the last couple of days and so the basement of my work building has flooded a bit and it smells like the darkest depths of a high school boy’s sneaker. In addition to my other responsibilities here, I’m the Building Manager. So I’ve had two voice mail messages this morning telling me about the flood. Then, one of our receptionists came to let me know as well- stood at my office door and said, “Um. You maybe. Already. The basement is flooded.” I can’t imagine why she would be so hesitant about it- except that I work in the basement.
